Chris Howell has plenty of reasons to celebrate after correctly predicting six scores during Gameweek Two of the Champions League to bag himself a cool £250,000, thanks to Super 6.

Some people would be happy with just guessing six winners in the Champions League, but Chris, from Letchworth, managed to predict six out of six results with the help of two stoppage time goals.

Included in these predictions was a very unlikely 1-1 draw between Chelsea and Red Bull Salzburg in Graham Potter’s first game in charge of Chelsea, and an away win for Benfica against Juventus. Whilst the other four results weren’t as shocking, managing to predict all six results correctly is no mean feat.

“I had looked with about 85 minutes gone, and I saw Haaland had just scored and thought: “Oh, I’m doing quite well” but I still had a few to get,” said Chris.

With five minutes of normal time to go, he still needed three more goals to be scored in order to win that magical £250,000 prize whilst hoping that the other results stayed the same.

Neymar made it 3-1 to PSG in the 88th minute, meaning there were only two more results needed in order to have the full set of correct results. With time running out, Marco Asensio scored in the first minute of injury time to give Real Madrid a 2-0 win over German side RB Leipzig.

Whilst Real Madrid were celebrating their second goal, Tottenham loanee, Tanguy Ndombele was netting a third for Napoli away at Rangers and that sealed the perfect set of six results for Chris as he became the first person this season to not only win the Super 6, but more importantly, the £250,000 prize.

“I kept checking them off through my results app: “That’s finished, that’s finished, that’s finished…” added Chris.

“I went: “Jesus, I’ve got all six.” I didn’t really know what to do.”

In regards to what Chris is going to do with the money, he said: “I’ve had tears today, the realisation of it. We’ve got seven kids and seven grandkids and Christmas is coming!”

Chris’ winning predictions in full were:

  • Manchester City 2-1 Borussia Dortmund
  • Chelsea 1-1 RB Salzburg
  • Rangers 0-3 Napoli
  • Real Madrid 2-0 RB Leipzig
  • Juventus 1-2 Benfica
  • Maccabi Haifa 1-3 PSG
