A stunning video of Frenkie de Jong's individual highlights for the Netherlands against Belgium shows he's an elite midfielder.

De Jong produced a stellar performance in his side's big 4-1 win over Belgium in the Nations League on Friday.

He starred in the engine room of the pitch, brilliantly dictating the match from midfield.

The 25-year-old showed off the variation in his game as he completed all his long-range passes, dribbles and won all his aerial duels.

He had an incredible 94 per cent pass completion rate, successfully producing a staggering 77 passes.

De Jong grabbed an assist, created four chances and made six ball recoveries in a midfield masterclass.

Needless to say, fans online loved De Jong's international outing, with Manchester United fans also weighing in on a player who could be plying his trade at Old Trafford next season.

One Twitter user wrote: "Nah he’s just too cool with it. In front of an actual CDM, this kid is monstrous."

A second tweeted: "Levels ahead of all of our midfielders."

A third added: "If I was Barca/Xavi there are sooooo many players I would be trying to sell before him. Mental."

A Man United fan commented: "Give him the Nunez wages as well man. Do whatever you gotta do to get him to the OT."

Speaking after his side's victory, De Jong said he's better suited to the national team than at his club.

"I play very differently here than at Barcelona. I think this suits me much better," he told NOS.

"I like to be the first player to receive the ball from the defenders and connect with the attack."

De Jong continues to be linked with a move to Man United.

The Barcelona star wants to stay at the Camp Nou, but the club's dire financial situation could see him leave this summer.

Erik ten Hag is hellbent on snapping up his former player ahead of the new season.

Will he get his man? Watch this space.
