Shocking footage shows steward fight with a fan during Birmingham City's 1-1 draw with Watford

Shocking footage shows steward fight with a fan during Birmingham City's 1-1 draw with Watford

The steward ended up fighting with a supporter in the stands at St Andrews in some shocking scenes.

A steward got into a full-blown fight with a fan at Birmingham vs Watford on Tuesday night.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in the Championship fixture, with Ken Sema preserving Watford's unbeaten start to the season after cancelling out George Hall's first-half opener.

But the real action was in the stands at St Andrews. A viral video circulating on social media shows a member of security getting into a physical confrontation with a fan.

The two began grappling with one another and feel down a few rows of seats in the struggle.

While this was going on, another group of supporters were getting angry with another two stewards.

Out of nowhere, the steward completes the kind of frightening takedown you would expect to see inside the Octagon in Dana White's UFC.

The supporter was hurled to the ground and then received a punch to the head. He was held by the collar of his jacket as other fans watched on.

It's not known what sparked the fracas but the incident prompted plenty of reaction online:

Birmingham's next fixture is on Saturday when they host Wigan Athletic at St Andrews.
