If you're going to do an elastico, then nutmegging your opponent and scoring a goal after it is about as good as it gets.
That's what James Rodriguez did in Real Madrid training today and we just can't stop applauding. He was left out of Zinedine Zidane's squad for last night's 6-1 La Liga win away at Real Betis through a slight injury, but was able to get involved in a session today. And that's where he scored this ridiculous goal.
It was a session consisting of fringe players and some youth stars so it was no surprise to see Rodriguez make it look easy to nutmeg a team-mate with an elastico before firing home from an almost impossible angle:
It's just a pity he's doing that in training rather than on the pitch for Madrid. James has only made seven appearances for the Spanish giants this season and it's difficult to see how he breaks into a team with so many quality attacking options.
