Simon Jordan Brands ‘Undeniable’ Liverpool As Best Team In Europe Despite Champions League Final Defeat

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has backed Liverpool as the best team in Europe despite losing the Champions League final to Real Madrid on Saturday.

Liverpool were hoping to add to their Carabao Cup and FA Cup triumphs this season with a European crown, but they were faced with a stubborn Madrid defence that included an inspired goalkeeper in the shape of Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois denied both Sadio Mane and Mo Salah in spectacular style as Madrid came out on top after Vinicius Junior tapped home the winner in the 59th minute to hand Los Blancos their 14th Champions League title.

Take a bow, Thibaut Courtois! 👏

The defeat in Paris left Liverpool with just two domestic cup trophies despite playing in every single game possible this season, a bitterly disappointing end to a potentially historic season for the Reds.

Michael Owen caused major arguments after the final by saying Liverpool are still the best team in Europe despite not winning the Premier League and the Champions League.

When a team beats another it doesn’t necessarily mean they are better. Would you back Madrid to beat Liverpool if they played again next week? Or Man City for that matter who dominated them for 160/180 minutes. I’ve so much respect for Madrid but simply think Liverpool are better https://t.co/5VLuxUECGF

Now, former Palace owner Simon Jordan has also made the same claim.

When asked about Liverpool and Real Madrid, Jordan insisted that the Anfield club are the better team.

He told talkSPORT: "I think Liverpool are the best team in Europe, I think they’re ferrel, they’re electric, they’re almost undeniable."

He added: "Liverpool are a better side than Real Madrid, I don’t care about individual games. I mean Chelsea beat Barcelona in the semi final of the Champions League when it was universally accepted that Barcelona were a better side."

His co-presenter argued that Real Madrid won both their domestic league and the Champions League whereas Liverpool lost both.

Jordan replied: "An individual game doesn’t mean a team is better, I think Liverpool from every aspect, from the goalkeeper to their centre forward, are a better side. They’re more aggressive, they’re easier on the eye and they’re more ferrel."

"To me, there is something about Liverpool, not just because they’re an English club because I’m no fan of Liverpool football club. I believe in my mind they’re a better team than Real Madrid."

Liverpool's season has now ended after fighting on four fronts, ultimately they were not able to get over the line in the two biggest trophies. But there is no denying that Jurgen Klopp's men are for sure one of the best teams in Europe and they will be at it again next season to win even more trophies.
