Al Ahli’s big summer signings took no time to produce their best football as they combined to score a beautiful goal against Al Hazm.

During what has been a crazy summer transfer window, a lot of the headlines were dominated by the Saudi Professional League, with clubs spending huge money to lure some of football’s biggest stars to Saudi Arabia.

Al Ahli brought in a whole new attacking trio with Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez and Allan Saint-Maxmin all arriving, as well as midfielder Franck Kessie and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

On Friday night, Al Ahli began their Saudi Professional League campaign against Al Hazm at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal stadium.

It took Firmino a mere six minutes to open the scoring as he headed in a cross from Ali Majrashi.

With 10 minutes on the clock, Al Ahli’s star-studded attacking trio combined beautifully for the second goal of the match.

Saint-Maximin did well to wiggle his way out of trouble before sweeping the ball out wide to Mahrez.

The former Manchester City man then played in a low ball across the penalty area and Firmino was in the right place at the right time to tap home his second goal of the night.

Apart from Al Ahli, a lot of Saudi Arabian clubs have managed to capture some of European football’s biggest stars.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr have managed to add the likes of Sadio Mane and Marcelo Brozovic to their ranks. Whilst Al Ittihad have signed midfield duo N’Golo Kante and Fabinho, plus Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.

Saudi Arabia will hope the big summer spending will attract more viewers for the Saudi Professional League and also more visitors to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

On Saturday, the Saudi Professional League continues with Al Taee vs Damac FC and Al Feiha against Al Khaleej.
