Fans have spotted N’Golo Kante’s reaction after he received his second-ever red card of his career.

On Tuesday night, Kante’s Al Ittihad were in action against fellow Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal in the Asian Champions League.

Al Ittihad were already two goals down when Kante received his marching orders. Aleksandar Mitrovic and Salem Al Dawsari were the scorers for Al Hilal.

With 66 minutes on the clock, Frenchman Kante was shown a red card after a VAR check ruled the 32-year-old should be sent off for a dangerous challenge.

After being shown the red card, a dejected Kante was filmed walking off the pitch towards the tunnel. You can watch the footage below.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “I felt really bad for him.”

Another tweeted: “Heartbreaking man.”

A third fan added: “Even when Kanté sent off he received a round of applause from the opponent team. Respect.”

This was only the second time Kante has been sent off, his first red card came back in the 14/15 season when he was playing for French club Caen.

The midfielder did not receive a red card during his time playing for Leicester City and Chelsea in the Premier League.

Kante was shown 31 yellow cards in 222 appearances in English football but zero red cards.

The former Premier League winner decided to move to Saudi Arabia after leaving Chelsea last summer, joining the likes of Karim Benzema and Fabinho at Al Ittihad.

Last Friday, Kante opened the scoring for Al Ittihad in their Saudi Professional League match against Al Hilal with a brilliant diving header.

However, his side failed to hold on to the lead as they eventually lost 3-1.

Currently, Al Ittihad are seventh in the Saudi Professional League table, 25 points adrift of leaders Al Hilal.

Kante and his teammates will be back in domestic action on Friday night as they take on Al Akhdoud at the King Abdullah Sports City.
