Cristiano Ronaldo has explained why he will never become a football manager once he retires.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner will turn 40 in February but with ambitions to play alongside his son, Ronaldo has no plans to hang up his boots after recently scoring his 900th career goal in Portugal's Nations League win over Croatia.

The Real Madrid icon hit 50 goals in 51 games for Al Nassr last season and has started the new season with four in as many matches.

Ronaldo has various other business ventures that could keep him busy when he does retire, while he now has a YouTube channel called 'UR Cristiano' which has already amassed a' whopping 60 million subscribers.

But Ronaldo has already ruled out becoming a manager in the future.

Many were convinced that the former Manchester United and Juventus forward was destined for a transition into coaching after seeing him on the touchline during Portugal's Euro 2016 win over France.

Ronaldo was forced off with an early injury but spent the majority of the game in the technical area alongside Fernando Santos, kicking every ball and barking instructions at his teammates.

It was seen as a glimpse into how one of the greats would operate as a coach in the future.

Yet Ronaldo does not foresee a time where he is managing, explaining that he does not have a desire for the current generation - feeling as though they don't listen.

Speaking with former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand on Rio Presents, Ronaldo said: "For me will be difficult one day to be a coach, because I don't have passions for this generation, it's difficult especially in football, because they don't take advice by our experience.

"They think they know everything, they think the phones will give you good education, the TikTok, the Instagram.

"I have other things to worry about, another chapter of my life that is a business part that I'm excited about.

"It will be a challenge to me and learn other areas I don't know, be more involved in my business and I think will be good."

Ronaldo will be back in action for Al Nassr as the weekend as they tak on Al Ahli on Friday evening.

Ivan Toney could make his debut for the visitors after making a £40 million move.
