Saudi Arabia have released behind-the-scenes footage of their stunning comeback win against Argentina in the World Cup.

On Tuesday, Lionel Messi’s Argentina were backed to get their tournament off to a flyer by comfortably brushing aside Saudi Arabia.

Messi’s side got off to the perfect start as they went ahead after their captain converted a penalty in the 10th minute.

However, in the second half, Saudi Arabia produced one of the best performances of their lives as they battled back to win 2-1 thanks to goals by Saleh Al-Shehri and Salem Al Dawsari.

The result shocked the football world to the core as no one expected Argentina, who are one of the favourites to lift the World Cup to lose to Saudi Arabia.

Now, the Middle Eastern country have released a 10-minute long behind-the-scenes video which captured the wonderful victory.

The video includes a passionate pre-match meeting led by head coach Herve Renard, who is now known for his no-nonsense speeches.

During his half-time team talk, the Saudi Arabia boss demanded his players get closer to Messi. Renard was captured saying: “Come on guys, come on, this is the World Cup, give everything!”

It was a truly fascinating insight into perhaps the country’s most memorable victory.

After beating Argentina, Saudi Arabia can secure a place in the next round with a victory against Poland on Saturday.

Ahead of the crucial match, Renard said: “Nothing has changed. We are still the lowest team in the group in terms of ranking and experience.

“The only good thing at the end of this stage is to finish number one or two.”

The Frenchman added: “We know where we come from and we keep our humility because if we don't have the humility we won't be able to play a good game.”

Argentina will now have to win against Mexico if they want to have any chance of making it through to the latter stages of the tournament.

In what will be Messi's last ever World Cup, can he inspire his team once again and overcome the difficulties?
