Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal agree fee for Wolves star Ruben Neves

Neves appears to be on his way to Saudi Arabia to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in the Middle East.

Ruben Neves is set to become the latest big European name to move to the Saudi Pro League after Al Hilal agreed a fee for the midfielder.

It's amazing how quickly Saudi Arabian club football has gone from something no one would have ever thought about to one of the busiest leagues in the transfer window.

Cristiano Ronaldo's arrival in the Middle East obviously kicked off all the interest and then they confirmed the signing of current Ballon d'Or holder Karim Benzema.

That came after the Public Investment Fund bought the four biggest clubs in the league and it looks like they're determined to spend money on the big names.

Lionel Messi turned down the chance to move there before he picked MLS over the Saudi Pro League, which has led to Neymar being a target.

Luka Modric is the latest high profile player to turn them down and so far they have mainly focused on players who can leave their current clubs for no transfer fee.

However that seems to have changed with the Athletic reporting that Al Hilal have agreed a £47 million fee for Wolverhampton Wanderers' star Neves.

The Portugal midfielder has been heavily linked with Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona in the past but now looks set to head to Saudi Arabia.

Whilst the former Porto star might not be the 'biggest' of the names who have already moved to the league or those being linked it is arguably the most surprising move.

At just 26-years-old the man who became the youngest captain in Champions League history is just entering his prime years.

It would be expected that he could continue to play in a league and for a team of a much better standing than Al Hilal for many years to come.

According to the report the midfielder is expected to agree terms with the club and end his six year spell at Molineux, which started when they were in the Championship.

Wolves could have a riot on their hands for selling the player, considering the fans' chant to celebrate the Portugal star, which debuted just over a year ago.

The fans claimed that they would 'riot' if the midfielder was sold, with rival fans claiming it was one of the 'worst songs of the season.'
