Ronaldo has been the subject of intense transfer speculation since he asked to be allowed to leave Old Trafford this summer.

The 37-year-old has reportedly received a mega proposal in Saudi Arabia, with a team offering him an eye watering salary in the region of £105 million per year.

The superstar forward is also attracting interest from around Europe, with Bayern Munich thought to be monitoring his situation.

Not to mention Chelsea who refused to rule out signing another forward this summer, with Thomas Tuchel tempted to strengthen his attack ahead of the new season.

And a move to Stamford Bridge could be in play if Edu Aguirre's social media activity is anything to go by.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Ronaldo's pal Edu has just started following Chelsea on Instagram.

The significance is that the El Chiringuito host broke the news that the Portuguese international wanted to leave Real Madrid.

So, fans read into it as a hint at Ronaldo's next club as one social media user wrote: "Thanks for confirming that CR7 is going to Chelsea with your follow."

Chelsea have snapped up Raheem Sterling from Manchester City and remain in the market for defensive recruitments.

But Tuchel hasn't ruled out signing another forward.

"I would not rule out signing another striker, but it’s not our priority. The priority right now is our defence, it’s not a secret," he revealed.

"We lost top players and so now we need to replace them."

On an individual note, Ronaldo enjoyed a prolific campaign last season. He scored 24 goals across all competitions, including 18 goals in the Premier League.

Will Ronaldo be plying his trade at Chelsea next season? Watch this space.
