Old Cristiano Ronaldo interview comes back to haunt him following Al Nassr transfer, has not aged well

Cristiano Ronaldo has joined the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

An old Cristiano Ronaldo interview has gone viral and has come back to haunt him following his mega move to Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo has joined Al Nassr, penning an extremely lucrative two-year deal - worth a staggering £177 million per year.

Of course, the move comes after he left Manchester United following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

The 37-year-old had also attracted interest from USA, with Sporting Kansas City hoping to land the star forward.

But he's opted for the Middle East club, calling his transfer a 'new experience' having plied his career in Europe.

However, if you had told Ronaldo that he would be playing for Al Nassr in 2023, he probably wouldn't have believed you.

Why? Well, because the man himself said he wanted to finish his career with 'dignity' at a 'good club'. Check the video below:

Speaking to Jonathan Ross in 2015, he said: "In my mind I want to finish in the top level. I want to finish with dignity so in a good club.

"It doesn’t mean that to go USA or Qatar or Dubai is not good but I don’t see myself [going]."

The Real Madrid legend also touched on a potential move to Saudi Arabia when he spoke to Morgan, who said: "If it was just about money, you'd be in Saudi Arabia earning this king's ransom, but that's not what motivates you.

"You want to keep at the top."

Ronaldo replied: "Exactly!"

Despite what's been said in the past, Ronaldo will play his football in Saudi Arabia and earn a bucket load of cash.

On his move to Al Nassr, he said: "I'm thrilled for a new experience in a different league and a different country, the vision that Al Nassr has is very inspiring.

"I'm very excited to join my teammates, and to help the team to achieve more success."

Al Nassr added: "History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves."
