Rival fans chanted Lionel Messi's name at Cristiano Ronaldo, he angrily reacted

Cristiano Ronaldo furiously reacted when rival fans chanted Lionel Messi's name at him during Al Nassr's defeat to Al Ittihad.

Ronaldo couldn't get going and failed to score as Al Nassr lost a top-of-the-table clash to Al Ittihad on Thursday.

Al Ittihad moved above Al Nassr to the top of the Saudi Pro League following their 1-0 win at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium.

Romarinho scored the only goal of the game in the 80th minute to hand his team a big league win over their rivals.

After the result, Al Ittihad's official Twitter account savagely mocked Ronaldo with a brutal video.

And their fans poked fun at him during the game as they ruthlessly chanted Messi's name.

Fans online reacted to Ronaldo being targeted by rival fans.

One Twitter user wrote: "The entire stadium chanting Messi’s name. It’s kind of sad, even in Saudi Arabia Ronaldo cannot escape his shadow."

A second sympathised, tweeting: "I feel bad for him tbh. Imagine what he's going through right now."

A third added: "These Saudi Arabia fans need to really stop like WTF!!!"

A fourth said: "He still lost after this!"

Another commented: "I honestly feel for him."

Al Nassr's defeat to Al Ittihad leaves them second in the league, one point off the top.

And the Portuguese superstar made his feelings known after the final whistle as he took his anger out on several water bottles before storming down the tunnel.

Ronaldo has eight goals to his name since moving to the Saudi Arabian club as he looks to steer his side to league glory this season.
