Manchester City are hoping to avoid the scenes from their match with Liverpool in last season's Champions League by sticking cameras to the side of their bus ahead of the visit to Anfield.

Last season Manchester City swept all before them last season, well that was apart from Liverpool where Jurgen Klopp continued to hold an advantage over Pep Guardiola by beating him in both the Premier League and Champions League.

City held the early advantage over their rivals with a 5-0 thrashing at the Etihad early in the season but in January the Reds ended City's unbeaten run with a 4-3 win at Anfield.

Then came the Champions League games, which Liverpool ended up winning 5-1 on aggregate, where the most memorable thing didn't actually seem to be the football but the entrance to Anfield.

The bus carrying Manchester City to the first leg was welcomed by Liverpool fans who set of flares and threw bottles of alcohol, bricks and other objects towards the coach carry Guardiola's side.

City head back to Merseyside this weekend and the Premier League champions have taken precautions, according to the Daily Mail, by fixing 15 HD cameras to the outside of the bus in order to record fans.

"Specifically trained staff" will be manning the cameras, which will be able to rotate and zoom, in order to catch anyone causing trouble as they welcome Guardiola's side.

Any images of fans doing anything wrong would then be shared with the authorities as the Citizens try to avoid a repeat of what happened last time they visited Jurgen Klopp's side.

City have already decided to take a different route to the ground. The new route will be unannounced, although I can't help but feel they should have just left the change of route unannounced.

The former Barcelona manager was asked about the possibility of a repeat of the scenes in April, "It is something for Liverpool, not me," said Guardiola. "The best way to protect the bus is for Liverpool fans to go into the stadium."

The two sides currently sit top of the table level on 19 points each from the first seven games and it's the biggest game of the season so far.
