Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys has married his daughter’s friend Lucie Rose

Former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys has married his daughter’s friend Lucie Rose

Richard Keys left Sky Sports back in 2011.

Ex-Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys has tied the knot with his daughter’s friend Lucie Rose.

Keys left Sky Sports alongside Andy Gray back in 2011 after they were involved in a sexism scandal.

They were heard mocking female assistant referee Sian Massey during a match between Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

On Saturday, Keys married Lucie Rose, who is a friend of his daughter and is 30 years younger than the 66-year-old presenter.

According to The Sun, Keys said: “I’m a very lucky man, although feeling a bit nervous.

“We’re heading off to Canada for our honeymoon which is a bit different.

“Then it’s back to work for both of us in August and the start of the football season for me.

“People think I might be a bit long in the tooth now but I don’t care.”

It has been claimed that Keys and Rose first met when the 66-year-old went to the Middle East to work for beIN Sports.

Keys split with his wife Julia back in 2016 after an alleged affair with Rose.

However, Keys denied the affair during an interview with The Athletic back in 2019, he said: “I’ll mention the unmentionable for you. Did I leave my wife fighting cancer? No.

“I don’t know what happened. I don’t know why our marriage ended the way it did, but my wife was fighting cancer for seven years before I left her and she had been in remission for seven years.”

He added: “If people believe that I walked away with my wife fighting cancer with a friend of my daughter’s. I can’t change that now.

“Tell a lie twice and it becomes the truth. Tell it on social media and it haunts you forever. I didn’t fall in love with a friend of my daughter’s.”

Back in 2018, Keys’ daughter, Jemma spoke to Mail on Sunday about the alleged affair.

She said: “All I can say is that it was 18 months down the line from finding out about the affair – which was the most awful betrayal – and I'd hit the lowest, darkest point of my addiction.

“Of course, I can't justify what I did. But I felt like my father had been stolen from me, and the affair genuinely has destroyed my family and my relationship with Dad.

“He had been my idol all of my life and, although I still love him, I don't know who he is any more. I have nothing to say to him.”
