John Terry was never going to completely stay out of the limelight despite moving from the Premier League to the Championship in the summer and unfortunately for him tonight he's being talked about because of an injury.

Terry leaving Chelsea in the summer wasn't that surprising but his decision to continue his career and by taking a step down to play in the Championship was a little surprising and a bit weird as we saw him in a different shirt to Chelsea's for the first time in about 17 years.

The former England and Chelsea captain chose to join Steve Bruce at Aston Villa as the former Wigan Wanderers boss tries to take the former Premier League club back to the top tier.

After a poor start to the season for the centre back and the team as a whole they've turned things round to be in the top six but on Saturday afternoon they suffered a setback as they lost to Sheffield Wednesday. Worse was to come as Terry limped off after 20 minutes and Steve Bruce confirmed a broken metatarsal:

"John went to hospital and it looks as if he has got a broken metatarsal which is bad news for all of us. How badly he has broken it, we don't know, but he will be out for quite some time, that's for sure.

"He has been immense for us during the last few months and when we analyse things tomorrow, that is when this will really hit us. The loss of key players is critical to us going forward especially your captain and John in particular.

"Let's hope it is not so bad. let's hope it is only one where it is six weeks out rather than 12 weeks."
