Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu almost clattered into St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright after he stumbled on the ball in a baffling incident at McDiarmid Park.

Izpeazu was in acres of space at the far side of the pitch during the second half of Saturday's Scottish Premiership tie.

But when the ball arrived at his feet, he failed to control the simple through ball; instead falling over on his backside in the technical area as fans looked on in disbelief.

St Johnstone, who sit in eighth place in the league table, ended up with a throw-in as Hearts manager Daniel Stendel turned away in horror.

The 24-year-old, who has scored two goals in 27 appearances for Hearts this season, genuinely looked in a state of confusion for a brief moment before getting to his feet.

Many fans on social media reacted to the bizarre incident.

Hearts remain in the relegation zone after picking up a point in the 3-3 draw against St Johnstone.
