After coming through the ranks at the club, Michael Owen went on to score a staggering 158 goals in 297 appearances for Liverpool and won the Ballon d'Or 2001.

His achievements would normally merit legendary status at Anfield but the fact he then went on to play for Manchester United at the end of his career has led to his relationship with the supporters becoming rather frosty - with plenty still not happy he is an official LFC ambassador.

Owen featured, and scored in the entertaining legends match with Bayern Munich today but has given a less warm welcome than the vast majority of the other players, the former England striker receiving boos from supporters who once adored him in his pomp.
