Kylian Mbappe’s future at Paris St Germain looks set to be resolved in the coming days.

All expectations are towards the Frenchman leaving the French champions for the Spanish champions, Real Madrid. But his current club have not given up on hopes that Mbappe will make a sensational U-turn and stay with the club.

It has been reported that PSG are willing to double his current salary package, to a staggering £4million a month, and offered Mbappe a huge signing on fee of £100million.

There will be other bonuses for goals, Ballon D’Or and Champions League success. It is a mammoth pay package that PSG have put on the table in what is a last ditch attempt to secure the service of their most prized possession.

Despite this, it is understood that PSG knows Mbappe will earn significantly less at Madrid, and that his move to Spain is not financially driven.

During the last 18 months, PSG have stretched every sinew to try and persuade Mbappe to stay. By telling him he is the heartbeat of the club, and they consider Mbappe as what the club stands for: Born in Paris, a global phenomenon, an unstoppable force in the game.

But it has been reported that sources close to Mbappe feels that PSG’s cash doesn’t match the club’s ambition, and there is a sense that the club is holding Mbappe’s career back, with the club’s retched Champions League record a reasoning behind the 23 year-old’s wish to leave for Madrid, a club that has tasted Champions League glory 13 times.

Real Madrid have also used this time to lure Mbappe away from Paris, describing him as the club’s new Cristiano Ronaldo, a player that Mbappe have been admiring throughout his childhood.

Mbappe to Real Madrid has always been talked about, talked about so much that PSG sporting director, Leonardo said this last month: "In Madrid they have been sure for three years that Kylian will end up at Real."

Time is ticking and an announcement from Mbappe himself regarding his future is imminent, Madrid are confident he will end up as their marquee signing of the window, but have PSG got another trick up their sleeve in a desperate attempt to make Mbappe stay? Only time will tell.
