The Premier League's official Twitter account has appeared to leak Manchester City's first league game of the 2022/23 season following the announcement of Erling Haaland.

The Blues have finally confirmed the transfer of Haaland after reaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund last month.

He joins the club for a reported £51 million, with the 21-year-old forward excited to begin his career at the home of the English champions.

And it appears he could be in line to make his league debut against newly-promoted Bournemouth.

That's according to the Premier League's official Twitter account. They replied to Man City's post unveiling Haaland.

Haaland will be looking to continue his prolific ways in front of goal, having scored an impressive 86 goals in 89 games for Dortmund.

Speaking to Man City's website, the Norwegian phenom spoke of his excitement about working with Pep Guardiola and his 'world-class' teammates.

"This is a proud day for me and my family," he said.

"I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can’t help but admire their style of play, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.

"There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions.

"I want to score goals, win trophies and improve as a footballer and I am confident I can do that here. This is a great move for me and I can’t wait to get started in pre-season."
