The Chase’s Quizmaster Drops ‘Impossible’ Premier League Challenge

The popular Chase star challenged fans to get all five questions correct.

Darragh Ennis, star of popular quiz show 'The Chase', has challenged Premier League fans with a series of questions that proved to be quite difficult.

After impressing as a contestant during a 2017 episode of The Chase , Ennis returned in April 2020 to become the sixth chaser on the popular ITV show.

The Irishman often speaks about his love of quizzing, and even spends his time outside of filming the TV show hosting quizzes across the country.

Recently, Ennis has also taken to making specially themed quizzes for his fans across social media, with each question typically in difficulty.

And in a quiz aimed at fans of the Premier League in the 2020s, 'The Menace' didn't hold back as one question in particular left people stumped.

In a video posted on TikTok in November last year, Ennis said: "Can you beat a quiz by The Menace? This time it's a football quiz and it's on the Premier League in the 2020s. I bet you won't get all five!"

Ennis went on to ask the five questions, which were:

  1. Which player has scored the most Premier League goals in the 2020s?
  2. Which team has finished the season with the lowest points total in this decade?
  3. In the past five years, which club has spent the most on transfer fees?
  4. Which is the only club with a net profit in the transfer market this decade?
  5. Which team did Manchester United beat 9-0 in the biggest margin of victory in the league this decade?

After asking the questions, Ennis added: "So, how did that go? Are you like Rodri or more of a plonker like Rodney Trotter?"

It is worth noting that the quiz was posted in November 2024 and therefore answers do not take into consideration anything after it was posted.

Taking a look at the comments, it appears that question four was the one that most fans were struggling with, as many suggested that Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brentford or Liverpool could be the answer.

Instead, the answer was Brighton and Hove Albion.

The answers to the remaining questions are:

  1. Mo Salah
  2. Sheffield United
  3. Chelsea
  4. Brighton and Hove Albion
  5. Southampton

Of course, since the time of publishing Southampton have also taken the mantle of the lowest points total this decade, finishing the 2024/25 season with just 12 points, beating Sheffield United's total of 16 points the season before.
