Roy Keane's cameo in the latest Sky Sports advert was broadcast to millions during Sunday's coverage of Chelsea vs Liverpool – and it delivered a brilliant reaction from the studio.

Ahead of the new season, Keane joined the likes of Manchester City duo Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland in an incredibly entertaining 'Greatest Show on Earth' commercial.

F1 driver Lewis Hamilton also featured alongside England cricket captain Ben Stokes, Spanish golfer John Rahm and ringmaster Idris Elba; the British actor known for roles in Luther and Bastille Day.

In fact, Elba starred in perhaps the most iconic scene of the advert, when he approached former Manchester United captain Roy Keane, who didn't look too pleased in a face full of clown make-up.

Check out the ad below. It's a good 'un.

A few weeks after the advert was first broadcast and those inside the Sky Sports studio on Sunday reacted to Keane's iconic cameo from Stamford Bridge.

Micah Richards, Daniel Sturridge and presenter David Jones waited in anticipation for Keane's initial reaction and to be fair, he took it well.

"Red nose day has come early," Richards laughed. "All you need now is some size 20 boots."

Here's how social media reacted to the clip.

One said: "Keano is getting soft in his old age," while another commented: "Keano has embraced his TV character."

A third wrote: "How much did they pay Roy Keane to put clown face paint on."

A fourth added: "Roy Keane dressed up as a clown then getting moody when the boys are laughing at him. B****y ell mate, lighten up!! YOU took the gig."

Earlier on in the day, Richards celebrated the much-anticipated return of Super Sunday with a video of former Manchester United captain Keane tucking into a packed lunch.

Keane, who is renowned for his no-nonsense opinions in the studio, decided to bring a ham sandwich to work, which brought a huge smile to the face of Richards.

"What, you brought a packed lunch?" he says in the below clip. "What is this nonsense? A ham sandwich?"
