Lil Wayne has revealed his 'favourite' Premier League club, and they have invited him over for a game.

Wayne - real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. - is widely regarded as one of the most influential hip hop artists of his generation.

The 41-year-old made his name in the music scene with his fourth and fifth albums Tha Carter and Tha Carter II, not to mention several mixtapes and collaborations throughout 2006 and 2007.

He enhanced his reputation with his sixth album Tha Carter III, which included legendary tracks 'A Milli', 'Got Money' and 'Lollipop'.

During a recent Instagram live, the American icon named his 'favourite team' in a shock revelation.

He claims to be a big Tottenham fan, saying: "I'm in the studio, I'm in here watching the Premier League.

"You already know my favourite team is Tottenham, I don't know if you know about that but that is my favourite team."

Well, Spurs caught wind of Wayne's comments and took to social media to issue an invitation.

On X, the North London side wrote: "Hey @LilTunechi, when you coming to a game?"

It remains to be seen whether Wayne will take Spurs up on their offer.

He's currently gearing up for a tour in the United States, with his first date scheduled for August 31 in Las Vegas.

The New Orleans rapper is booked until October 19, so a visit to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be on the cards for later in the year.

Spurs, meanwhile, have opened their new league season with four points from their opening two games, having drawn against Leicester City and thrashed Everton 4-0 last weekend.
