Jorginho snubs Man City star Rodri when naming the five best players in the Premier League

Jorginho snubs Man City star Rodri when naming the five best players in the Premier League

Jorginho failed to mention the Manchester City star.

Arsenal star Jorginho surprisingly snubbed Rodri as he named the FIVE best players in the Premier League right now.

Jorginho, who starred in Arsenal's recent 3-1 win over Liverpool, failed to pick his fellow defensive midfielder when naming the best players in England's top flight.

Rodri is incredibly crucial to Manchester City's set up and is sorely missed when he's unavailable for Pep Guardiola.

He's widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in world football, but Jorginho didn't acknowledge the Spaniard when picking his five best players in the Premier League.

Speaking to JD Football, the 32-year-old was asked to select the five best players in the Premier League to which the co-host replied: "I think you're going to say Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah Salah and Erling Haaland."

Jorginho agreed with De Bruyne, Salah and Haaland before saying: "These three for sure, it’s a tough one, yeah it’s tough."

The co-host said: "Rodri, maybe?"

Jorginho replied: "It could be, but I will go for Saka."

As the Italy international mulled over his last pick, the likes of Martin Odegaard, William Saliba and Virgil van Dijk were thrown at him before he opted for Reece James.

His decision to name James surprised the host, who asked him if the Chelsea star is better than Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Jorginho replied: "I think I put Reece James fifth. Him and Trent are a bit different, but for my team I pick Reece, I think he is more complete."

De Bruyne, Salah, Haaland, Saka and James are among the best players in the Premier League.

De Bruyne, Salah, Haaland and Saka have shone for their respective clubs this season while James has been hit with injury and has been limited to just eight league games this campaign.
