Internet sensation IShowSpeed appeared to be ambushed by a group of Premier League footballers on Fortnite, including Harvey Barnes.

The popular YouTuber and influencer was taking part in the battle royale game on Wednesday evening, as thousands of fans watched on the live stream.

However, Speed was left shocked when he was on the receiving end of an unprecedented attack from a player named Harvey Barnes.

After being shot at on the game, Speed exclaimed: "Who the f*** is Harvey Barnes? Harvey Barnes, f*** you."

Speed's teammates rushed to help while the 18-year-old shouted: "That's Harvey Barnes, kill Harvey Barnes!"

However, there was nothing they could do as each player was killed off one by one.

Eagle-eyed fans soon spotted that gamers on the opposition team were using names such as Anthony Gordon and Paul Dummett.

Many spectators were convinced that it was in fact the Newcastle trio playing at 1am.

One person tweeted: "Well this was not what I expected."

Another added: "I’m creased some Fortnite pro players and Speed got butchered from Barnes, Dummett and Gordon at 1am."

A third wrote: "I would have never seen this crossover coming," while a fourth joked: "Barnes the GOAT."

There is no tangible evidence to suggest that the Magpies players were actually playing Fortnite, but it's not out of the question bearing in mind tall three players are enjoying some time off for the international break.

Some fans remained sceptical, with one tweeting: "It’s probably just Newcastle fans with those names but it’s still funny."
