Graeme Souness reveals the one Man United player that would make it into Liverpool's team

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness feels that only one Manchester United player is good enough to make it into Liverpool's team.

Graeme Souness thinks that nobody in the current Manchester United team is good enough to make it into Liverpool's starting XI, bar one.

Liverpool will host Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon in what is predicted to be one of the most one-sided match-ups between the sides in recent history.

United go into the game out of form, with only one win in their last five games in all competitions while Liverpool are at the opposite end of the spectrum with four wins in five.

Liverpool are heavy favourites, with United standing at 8/1 odds to win at a stadium where they haven't won at since Wayne Rooney fired in a close-range winner in 2016.

The side have been struggling for consistency this season, albeit while undergoing an injury crisis that hasn't slowed down four months into the season.

Having already lost 11 games in all competitions this season, the Red Devils will be hoping to snatch a win against the odds to revive their so far dismal season.

With the poor quality on show from the squad this season, Souness feels that only one player is good enough to start for Liverpool: "Who would Liverpool take from Man United? Bruno Fernandes, perhaps. I think he would be a star in Liverpool’s team, because he has all the qualities you need to be a top player. Right now, however, there is something missing from his game.

"That is why, from the 22 who line up at kick-off, I’d say the best 11 players will all be in the red of the home team."

Fernandes has been singled out among the underperformers at Manchester United as the captain of the club, despite having the most goal involvements of any United player this season with five goals and five assists in all competitions.

Souness also shared his thoughts on the overall situation at Man United, saying: "Everyone at that club has to look over their shoulder with a new co-owner coming in. It needs a total revamp.

"The football decisions have left them £1billion worse off and with this group of players, who simply aren’t good enough for where the club should be."

The ex-Liverpool midfielder also thinks the club's recruitment are to blame for their managers' failings: "Manager wise, they have tried everything - the serial winners in Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho, the club legend in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and now Ten Hag.

"But it doesn’t matter who they have if they continue to sign average players. That is why, for me, Liverpool will beat them again this weekend."
