Cesc Fabregas compared the qualities of England trio Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden and Cole Palmer and there was a clear winner following his picks.

The three are right up there when it comes to the most exciting talents in world football right now and look like shoo-ins to make Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 squad.

Picking between the trident is a difficult task given the abilities they all possess in different departments.

But while he was playing in a five-a-side game as part of an Enterprise 'Rent-A-Player' campaign, SPORTbible asked Fabregas, one of the greatest midfielders in history, to select one out of the three for a number of areas and the outcome was fairly overwhelming.

For speed, Fabregas went with Saka - who also edged it when penalty-taking was brought up.

Since his Euro 2020 costly miss, Saka's efforts from 12 yards have been near faultless.

23-goal season Palmer got the nod for skill and finishing but it was otherwise domination from Foden.

The two-time PFA Young Player of the Year winner was the clear choice for 'Footballing IQ', work-rate, technique and passing.

Foden finished with four wins, with his international colleagues both tied on two.

Here is how the breakdown looked:

Foden has 22 goals in all competitions this season and Fabregas is clearly a fan.

When SPORTbible asked which England player he would like to have in the Spanish, he didn't hesitate to pick the 23-year-old.

"I would go for more of an offensive players, more of a number 10. I think I would go for [Phil] Foden," Fabregas said.

"A Foden type of player, I think we need it in Spain.

"The type of player who makes the difference between the lines, to make things happen, who can score goals, make assists and have end product.

"I think we do need that in the national team."
