Man United fans are discussing what Paul Pogba could have been with Casemiro alongside him

Man United fans are discussing what Paul Pogba could have been with Casemiro alongside him

Paul Pogba returned to action last night and got Manchester United fans talking.

Manchester United fans can't help but wonder what Paul Pogba could have been with Casemiro alongside him in midfield following his long-awaited second debut for Juventus.

Pogba returned to action following his serious knee injury in his side's 4-2 win over Torino on Tuesday.

And he made a big impression for the Serie A giants as it took him just a few minutes to show fans and critics what they have been missing.

The 29-year-old starred in his 21-minute cameo, with people on social media raving about his superb showing. He even got Man United fans talking.

They were discussing what a midfield of Pogba and Casemiro could have looked like as the Brazilian has enjoyed a sensational start to his Old Trafford career.

One Twitter user wrote: "Pogba next to Casemiro and under Ten Hag would easily become the best midfielder in our history."

A second tweeted: "Hot take but we’d be top of the Premier League if we’d had a fully fit Paul Pogba for this season, him and Casemiro together would’ve actually been the greatest pivot in history."

A third added: "In an ideal world, just try to imagine Casemiro and Pogba in one midfield. With Bruno and the rest of the front line ahead of them. Oh my days. What could have been."

A fourth bemoaned: "FFS man a Pogba Casemiro pivot it was so over for the league."

Another commented: "Can't help but wonder how a midfield of Casemiro, Pogba and Bruno would cook under Ten Hag."

Other than the one season in his second spell at Man United, where he scored 16 goals in all competitions in the 2018/19 campaign - Pogba largely failed to deliver.

But if he was still at the club and playing alongside Casemiro, then it could have been a very different outlook.

The former Real Madrid man, who joined the club last summer in a transfer worth up to £70 million, has been a revelation and helped his team to their first trophy since 2017, when they beat Newcastle United 2-0 last weekend to win the Carabao Cup.
