Salah's contract at Liverpool expired in just over a year's time and it could leave Jurgen Klopp looking for a replacement for the star.

Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool remains a hot topic, with a new contract yet to be signed, and now one forward has been named as 'ticking all the boxes' to replace the Egyptian.

Salah is obviously extremely important to Jurgen Klopp's team, and to many he's the best player in the world right now, but that doesn't mean there aren't questions over his future.

With just over a year left on his current contract, Salah could leave for nothing at the end of next season and even begin talks with clubs outside of England in a year's time.

Whilst there has been reports of the 29-year-old wanting £300,000-a-week, the player has said he's not demanding anything 'crazy,' and there's been claims he's running out of time to convince the club he's worth the money.

If Salah does leave it would mean Klopp having to replace the forward, and one pundit has claimed that in form West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen is the perfect replacement.

"I actually thought, if we lost Mo Salah, who could we logically go after?," Liverpool fan and pundit Tony Cascarino told talkSPORT.

"Well, the lad Bowen at West Ham ticks all those boxes because he’s tenacious, he chases everything and is decent technically, but not extraordinary.

"I keep thinking who would fit into that Liverpool frontline because Klopp loves those kinds of players in wide areas, who will chase and hassle players and will do the ugly things for their team, and will always get chances."

Bowen has been in fine form for the Hammers this season, as they continue to fight for a top four finish in the Premier League this season.

He has scored six goals and assisted seven in the league, and there has been talks of him being called up to Gareth Southgate's next England squad.

Whilst the 25-year-old's numbers do pale in comparison to Salah's 16 goals and nine assists, Cascarino thinks his workrate, similar to Sadio Mane, makes him the perfect signing for Klopp.

"Klopp seems to love players that are really tenacious who will never give up and will chase," the former Chelsea player added.

"They don’t have to be technically absolutely brilliant, because Mane’s not, they’re good, but they’re not technical geniuses like when you look at Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

"They’re not like that, but they’re all tenacious, he really loves that."

The former Hull City forward has actually previously been linked with a move to Anfield this month, with Salah and Mane at the Africa Cup of Nations, as back up to the forwards.

If Salah hasn't signed a new deal by the summer than Klopp may be forced to offload his star man, or risk losing him for free in a year's time.

Should Liverpool consider Bowen as a potential replacement?
