Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Can Only Use Manchester United January Transfer Budget Under One Condition

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Can Only Use Manchester United January Transfer Budget Under One Condition

United's troubles have people thinking that they should throw yet more money at the problem but Solskjaer might not be allowed to spend it.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be stopped from using Manchester United's transfer budget in, following the side's 4-2 loss to Leicester City.

Mason Greenwood's brilliant goal gave United a first half lead against Leicester but they ended up losing the match, after a crazy few second half minutes.

The result meant Solskjaer's side have won just two of their previous seven games in all competitions and led to criticism of the manager, including from Paul Pogba.

United are already five points off leaders Chelsea and play rivals Liverpool, who are one point behind the Blues, next weekend and a loss would could put a very premature end to their title hopes.

According to the Star, that could also end Solskjaer's hopes of adding more quality to his already quality squad, with £70 million potentially available to him in January.

The report claims the manger will only be given the funds if the club feel they are in genuine contention to win the title this season, as a boost to those chances.

It's not like United haven't already spent big this summer, and previously under Solskjaer, with Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo added.

However the manager also wanted to add a right back in the last window and there has also been plenty of talk about a central midfielder coming in.

Whilst Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been good for the team, since joining from Crystal Palace, his crossing ability has been questioned, and with Ronaldo in the middle a player like Kieran Trippier, who was Ole's priority, would be perfect.

The 'McFred' pairing of Scott McTominay and Fred hasn't been good enough defensively and there's questions about Pogba playing in a midfield two.

As well as coming under pressure for the result on Saturday, Solskjaer was being criticised for his most match interview, where it sounded like he didn't know what was wrong.

The Norwegian asked 'what do we need' during his interview, and fans weren't happy with the confusion at all.

Whilst a lot of fans still understand all the good things their former striker has done since Jose Mourinho left the club, there is more and more sentiment against the manager.

Can he survive long enough to use January's budget?
