Neymar was forced off just after the break.

Neymar was stretchered off during Paris Saint-Germain's league clash against Lille after picking up a nasty-looking ankle injury.

The Brazilian started in attack alongside Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe for his side's Ligue 1 fixture on Sunday.

But he lasted just 49 minutes after he suffered a suspected ankle injury following a collision with Lille's Benjamin Andre.

The 31-year-old awkwardly went over on his ankle and cut a hugely emotional figure as he laid stricken on the ground.

He received urgent medical attention before being stretchered as he was replaced by Hugo Ekitike.

Neymar scored his side's second goal as he tapped home into an empty net after the goalkeeper rushed off his line.

However, he lasted just four minutes after the interval following his ankle injury.

Without Neymar, PSG still managed to secure the win after playing out a seven-goal thriller.

The French giants raced into a two-goal lead as Mbappe and Neymar scored a goal each inside 17 minutes.

But Lille hit back in the with three second-half goals to take the lead. Mbappe levelled three minutes from time to make it 3-3.

Then, in the 95th minute, Messi produced a moment of magic to score his side's winner after converting a sensational free-kick.

Speaking after the game, Mbappe said of Neymar's injury: "I was never attacking or pointing the finger at Neymar when I mentioned we need to eat and sleep well.

"I hope Neymar’s injury is not serious, I hope he returns soon - we need him with us."
