Lionel Messi's latest victory sees him move ahead of rival Cristiano Ronaldo on six Ballon d'Or, but surely the only way to categorically prove who is the true footballing GOAT is to do it through FIFA 20?

That's exactly what YouTuber 'Rich Leigh' decided to do, but took it up another notch by simulating a game between a team of Messis and a team of Ronaldos.

Every player from goalkeeper to striker on one team is Messi, with Ronaldo being cloned eleven times on the opposite side in Rich's latest experiment.

He did it on the all-new 'Volta' FIFA Street style mode to begin with but of course it was only right he did in the proper game.

The first real incident in the game sees Messi collide with Ronaldo in the box and give away a penalty. CR7 is normally ice cool from 12 yards but this must have been his twin brother as he put the spot-kick well wide.

And team Ronaldo rue that golden chance as less than ten minutes later Messi's XI are 1-0 up when three Messis combine and the Argentine smashes one past Ronaldo.

Then, straight after half-time, the team of Messis extend their lead when the talisman, Messi, leathers in another one.

Ronaldo's mob pull one back on the hour mark with a bullet header but it proves to be nothing more than a consolation as with 20 minutes remaining, the two-goal deficit is reduced courtesy of a right-footed Messi strike into the bottom corner.

Bleacher Report had a similar idea when they pitted eleven Messis against eleven Virgil van Dijks ahead of the two squaring off for the Ballon d'Or.

And the result was exactly the same - Messi emerging the victor against the taller and more physical opponent - again by a 3-1 scoreline.
