William Saliba produced a match-saving tackle against Kylian Mbappe, matching the Paris Saint-Germain phenom stride for stride in a stunning sequence.

Messi pierced a delightful through ball to Mbappe, who latched onto the pass and raced through on goal.

But the 20-year-old defender had other ideas, making a superb tackle that stopped Mbappe from having an attempt.

Saliba, on loan from Arsenal, matched Mbappe for pace then performed a brilliant challenge in a pivotal moment in the game.

Fans online loved Saliba's moment of magic.

One tweeted: "The 'Mbappe of CBs' locking up Mbappe... Saliba is generational."

A wrote: "Last ditch tackle by Saliba on Mbappe. What a player man. Get this boy back to Arsenal ASAP."

A third added: "William Saliba well & truly passed the Mbappe test tonight..."

Saliba signed for Arsenal in a transfer worth £27 million in 2019, but has yet to play a game for the Premier League side.

He's been loaned out to Saint-Etienne and Nice while enjoying his football at Marseille this season.
