In what would appear to be a rather perplexing story, Cristiano Ronaldo has apparently got himself in a spot of bother in relation to the glasses he wore for his massive Real Madrid contract renewal on 7 November.
The Portuguese superstar penned a deal until 2021, which his club are no doubt delighted about.
However they are also said to be furious with the glasses he wore at the press conference for his contract extension.

Sadly it's not because they wanted him to wear some cool Spiderman ones from Specsavers, there is actually a logical reason.
Reports in Spain suggest that Ronaldo was wearing glasses made by Nike - which makes sense with him being the face of their football franchise. But Real Madrid have had a lengthy kit deal with Adidas for quite some time and do not like to endorse Nike in any way.
Clearly that wasn't the case at the big announcement held by a club who are very much pro-Adidas, where one of the most popular footballers of all-time with a gigantic brand was wearing glasses designed by Nike.

It's no surprise that Madrid are reportedly not happy.
