What Steven Gerrard said about Philippe Coutinho in 2015 is so accurate, it's actually happening.

Coutinho appears to be on the verge of signing for Barcelona. Finally.

The Catalans tabled a few monstrous bids in the summer but to no prevail, as Liverpool refused his sale. Though, a few months later, it seems like the club are resigned to losing his services.

Coutinho will cost Barcelona in excess of £100 million, and it's a transfer Liverpool hero Gerrard predicted.

"He has just signed a new deal and he and his wife - who are a lovely couple - seem settled here," wrote Gerrard in his autobiography 'My Story' via Mirror, referring to Coutinho penning a new five-year contract in February 2015.

"But I also know that the Spanish giants, Barcelona and Real Madrid, will come looking for Philippe in a few more seasons, just like they did with Luis.

Of course, after consistently churning out goals, Suarez swapped Anfield for the Camp Nou in 2014, and Coutinho is set to follow in his footsteps.

"And that's when it will get tricky for Liverpool because the lure to go to one or two of those clubs is so strong for any South American or Spanish player," Gerrard added.

Spot on, right?

The lure of playing alongside Lionel Messi and Co. has proved too hard to turn down. And who can blame him.

Coutinho and Suarez are on course to be club teammates, once again.
