West Ham Website Bizarrely Has Insider Story About £20Million Bid For Moussa Dembele
West Ham's £20million bid for Moussa Dembele isn't just a transfer rumour - the club's website are in on it too.
Bizarrely, the Hammers have 'The Insider', a feature of their official website which gives insight into what's happening behind-the-scenes at the club.
And it's in their first article of 2017 where the Dembele story is first mentioned - hours before the Evening Standard reported it.
Now, 'The Insider' doesn't use Dembele's name, but it's pretty clear that the Frenchman is the 'player from Scotland' that the club have bid £20million for.
The author writes on whufc.com: "My understanding is that the Board are committed to giving the Club the best-possible chance of achieving that target, and have allocated significant funds to bolstering the squad. To that end, a bid of £20m - a figure close to the Club's all-time transfer record - was submitted for a player from Scotland."
Now, the article ends by clarifying that it reflects the views of the author and not necessarily the club - but surely we can read a lot into the fact it appears on the official website and specifically mentions a player from Scotland?

Dembele has been a hugely important player for Celtic since signing from Fulham in the summer and his strong form has led to rumours of a big money move away.
So it makes sense that he's the player they're speaking about, as it's unlikely any other Scottish football star would command a £20million transfer fee.
It's common knowledge that West Ham are in the market for a striker too, given the struggles of Slaven Bilic's side so far this term.
They currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, just seven points above the relegation zone, so Dembele would be a big signing for them if they could make it happen.
