Yesterday, we wrote an article on the strangest superstitions and pre-match rituals in football and after reading that Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann wears a long sleeved jersey because of David Beckham, the 25-year-old could have easily made the list.
Griezmann, who left Euro 2016 this summer with the Golden Boot award, explained in an interview why Beckham is the reason why he wears a long sleeved jersey on the pitch.
The French international spoke about watching David Beckham on television as a child, and how the former Manchester United midfielder made a big impact on his career.
In the interview, Griezmann revisited childhood memories and explained the reason behind wearing the number 7 shirt and a long sleeved jersey:
"I liked him (David Beckham) a lot. He was my idol.
That's why I wear a long-sleeved jersey and wear the No7."
Griezmann has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent years, and now that his friend and international teammate Paul Pogba is at the club, he may veer towards a move to the Premier League in the coming months,

The 25-year-old recently spoke about Pogba's move to Manchester United, as well as hinting that a move to the Premier League could be an option in the future.
Griezmann on playing in Premier League: "Yes, why not? If I am out of contract with Atletico I would ask myself that question." #MUFC

Whether Griezmann will play for Manchester United in the future is up for discussion but don't be surprised to see him in the Premier League sooner rather than later.
Do you think Griezmann should follow his teammate Paul Pogba to the Premier League?
Let us know.
