Wayne Rooney provided a superb assist during his long-awaited Derby County debut as his side beat Barnsley 2-1.
Rooney, 34, made his Derby debut on Thursday night and was handed the captain's armband by Phillip Cocu and he marked his Championship bow with a brilliant assist.

The England legend curled in a stunning free-kick to set up Jack Marriott who poked home from close range.
Needless to say, Rooney's free-kick sent social media into overdrive.
"A brilliant cross from Rooney that was just waiting to be tucked home in the middle. A lethal free-kick. Class," one social media user wrote.

A second tweeted: "Class is permanent" while another added: "Great Rooney wide free kick assist. Scrappy game, but Wazza has made his mark already."
Rooney signed an 18-month contract with Derby as player-coach in the summer but was not available to play until the New Year due to his contract with DC United.
