A fan has created a video of Kevin De Bruyne's promising debut for Chelsea before Jose Mourinho sold him.

De Bruyne made his competitive Chelsea bow against Hull City on the opening day of the 2013/14 Premier League season.

And the Belgium, aged 22 at the time, showed signs of his potential with an assured first game in England's top flight.

He recorded an assist for Oscar and displayed his range of passing.

A Chelsea supporting-Twitter user uploaded the clip of De Bruyne's league debut for the Blues, titled: "Mourinho saw this performance and decided to sell him, ill individual."

Of course, he wasn't the finished article - but the undeniable talent was on show.

And fans rue Mourinho's decision to offload him that season.

One social media user wrote: "I find it hard to forgive Mourinho for selling this guy even when he is more than ready to start for us then I'm sure if Jose is our current manager mason mount and Abraham even James wouldn't have been given a chance."

A second tweeted: "Jose has blood on his hands."

A third added: "It's crazy how blitz he is now. The quality of his final pass was always there . That time at Wolfsburg really developed his game to another level."

De Bruyne went onto sign for Wolfsburg during the January transfer window in 2014.

He excelled in Germany before returning to England in the form of Manchester City who splashed out £55 million to acquire his luxurious services in 2015.

The midfield maestro has since become a world class baller and one of the best players in England.
