That's despite supporting Messi's Argentina on the international stage.

He told Gazetta dello Sport: "It is difficult for me to choose because I support Argentina, but I am a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo.

"I admire Ronaldo since he played for Manchester United and I support the Red Devils."

Bolt continued by explaining his pick, saying that Ronaldo has proven himself across different leagues unlike Messi who has enjoyed his whole career in Spain's top flight.

"I think he has something more than Messi because he has proven himself in many leagues," he added.

"That's why I choose Ronaldo."

Ronaldo has dominated wherever he has plied his trade including prolific spells in the Premier League and La Liga.

He's having another sensational campaign despite people trying to write him off.

The Portuguese scored in his side's win over Napoli and his strike brought up his 25th Serie A goal of the season.

He has now bagged 25+ league goals in 11 out of the last 12 campaigns.
