Virgil van Dijk is set to become the highest-paid player in Liverpool history after agreeing a reported £220,000-a-week deal.

Van Dijk, 28, will sign a five-year contract extension worth a staggering £57 million, according to widespread reports.

The Dutch defender will become the highest-paid player Liverpool ever with a £220,000-a-week deal.

It is also claimed that Paris Saint-Germain have expressed an interest in signing the star player, but Liverpool aren't concerned about him leaving Anfield.

Van Dijk currently earns a believed £180,000-a-week, though his wage will be increased once Liverpool secure their first ever Premier League title.

The £40,000 hike will see him move ahead of Mohamed Salah as the club's top earner. The Egyptian winger is on a £200,000-a-week deal.

Roberto Firmino rakes in £180,000-a-week while Jordan Henderson and James Milner both earn £140,000-a-week.

Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane, Joel Matip and Fabinho are also on six-figure deals.

Star full-backs Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold, however, earn a reported £50,000-a-week and £40,000-a-week, respectively.
