New Real Madrid star David Alaba is earning a whopping £412,000-a-week and the Spanish club wonder why they are in financial trouble.
Despite the concerns over finances, the Bernabeu outfit went to extreme lengths to snap up former Bayern Munich man Alaba on a free transfer.

They secured his services on a five-year deal, worth a reported £412,000-a-week.

Though he has the supposed funds to offer Alaba, 28, an astronomical wage package.
It is Real's first major transfer of the summer and it comes after the departure of manager Zinedine Zidane who left his post following a trophyless 2020/21 season.
The versatile Austrian, who can play across the defence or in midfield, reacted to his move by posting a message on social media.

He tweeted: "I leave a special club for another special club. I am really happy and honored to join Real Madrid.
"After so many years in Munich I will face a new challenge and I will give my best to continue the club's special history. @realmadrid."
Alaba enjoyed 12 trophy-laden seasons at Bayern, winning the lot; from every domestic title to the Champions League in 2013 and 2020.
