A group of fans tried to convince Jack Grealish to stay at Aston Villa by saying a move to Premier League champions Manchester City would "ruin" him.

The England international has been heavily linked with a move to the Etihad this summer. In fact, Pep Guardiola's side submitted a £100 million bid for the attacking midfielder on Friday, according to reports.

Villa have yet to respond to the huge offer for their club captain but for now, Grealish remains an Aston Villa player as the biggest transfer in English football history remains in the balance.

So what next? We know that Grealish returned to training with his teammates on Monday after being given an extended break because of his efforts at the European Championship.

The club's official Twitter account posted a clip of him doing some stretches on a training field.

After the light session, Grealish took pictures with a number of young supporters and while doing so, the 25-year-old was greeted with a few messages regarding a possible transfer to Manchester City.

At first, he was told that City are "a small club mate" and that "they'll ruin you!"

He was then asked: "Do you wanna join a club that was formed 10 years ago?" but as you can see in the footage below, Grealish gave nothing away and ignored the comments.

If he does decide to make the move to Manchester this summer, Grealish will link up with his "favourite ever player".

The 25-year-old has often handed out huge praise to Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne in the past, and is always in awe whenever he plays against him.

Speaking to Andy Townsend in an interview for Villa TV last year, Grealish said: "I'm half starstruck when I play against Kevin De Bruyne because he's my favourite player ever. I think he's unbelievable, I think he's easily the best player in the Premier League at the moment.

"He's someone I personally look up to at the moment and try and, not base my game on him, but try and take stuff from his game and put that into mine."

Ahead of the 2020 Carabao Cup final, Grealish continued to share his love-in for De Bruyne when Sky Sports asked who his favourite City player is.

"De Bruyne. Easy. I love him," he replied.

"I think he's easily the best player in the Premier League for me. Apart from [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo, he's probably the best player in the world.

"Everyone knows how good he is and he could walk into any team in the world."
