Odds Have Been Slashed On Daniel Sturridge Joining Rival Premier League Club

Is a shocking deadline day move on the cards?

In what could turn out to be one of the most shocking transfer deadline day deals in history, the odds of Daniel Sturridge joining Arsenal have tumbled, according to The Mirror.

The England international has reportedly become disillusioned with life under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, seemingly unimpressed with the German manager shunting him into a wide position instead of using him in his favoured centre forward position. Sturridge was then left on the bench for the Reds' 1-1 draw at Spurs at the weekend, only coming on with two minutes of the match remaining. This was following a tepid performance by the striker during the 2-0 defeat at Burnley, the week before.

Sturridge was used in the wide role during the EFL Cup victory over Burton Albion, when he said after the match, "I am a centre-forward" , and followed up his statement by saying that although he will fill the position out wide, it didn't mean he was happy to do it.

Despite the signing of Lucas Perez, Arsene Wenger is still without the injured Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud is notoriously hot and cold with his form in front of goal, so there's still a chance the Frenchman will be tempted into the transfer market one last time before the window closes, tonight.

The Gunners have been moved into pole position by Betfair to secure Sturridge's signature, with odds of 7/1 of a move happening.

Would a move to Arsenal be the best for all parties or would Klopp be stupid to lose his most talented striker with little time left to replace him? Have your say in the comments section, below.
