Between the likes of Thierry Henry, David Trezeguet and Anthony Martial, Monaco have forged a reputation for developing quality strikers and the latest starlet to catch the eye in Monte Carlo could soon be on his way to the Premier League.

Kylian Mbappe has caught the eye this season, scoring 11 goals in 25 appearances and laying on five assists, helping Monaco to the top of Ligue Un in the process.

Let's hope Mbappe doesn't go the same way as some of these 'wonderkids'...

The France U19 international is, unsurprisingly, catching the attention of scouts from across Europe, hoping to unearth the next Anthony Martial or Thierry Henry, with the latter recently singing the 18-year-old's praises in his column in The Sun.

"I've met Mbappe and he's a nice lad with a good head on his shoulders. He is very respectful and quite quiet. But give him the ball and he talks and he isn't very nice anymore!

"He is determined and never gives up. He is the talk of the town and has so much talent. He has skills, goals, assists. He can do what he wants with the ball."

In news that may excite the former Monaco man, Mbappe could end up leaving one of Henry's old clubs for another, with Arsenal registering an interest in him, according to L'Equipe.

But the Gunners are not alone in their pursuit of Mbappe, with North London rivals Tottenham also monitoring his progress. However, Monaco's £80m valuation may just keep both Premier League clubs at arm's length for the time being.

Mbappe will be showcasing his skills at a Premier League ground tonight, with Monaco taking on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of their round of 16 tie in the Champions League.

The stands at Eastlands are sure to be littered with scouts keeping tabs on the 18-year-old.
