Bastian Schweinsteiger may have felt home alone since Jose Mourinho took over as Manchester United manager, but now the former Germany captain is being offered the break-up from the Red Devils his career so desperately requires.
GoalUSA are reporting that MLS club Chicago Fire are set to hand the United midfielder a three-year contract worth $16.5m, making Schweinsteiger one of the highest paid players in the league's history.

Fire, fresh from another disappointing season are hoping that the colour of money will lure the former Bayern Munich man away from Wayne's World to Toyota Park in time for pre season training in January.

Given the fact he is yet to make a single appearance after being outcast, seemingly as one of Jose Mourinho's public enemies, for no real reason at all, the deal seems too good to turn down for a player who has claimed he will never play for another European club.

Chicago coach Veljko Paunovic met with Schweinsteiger earlier this month in Manchester and expects a deal to be thrashed out soon.
