Just over a week after completing the signing of Swedish defender Victor Lindelof, Manchester United may be going back to Benfica for another summer signing.

After strengthening his defence with Lindelof, United manager Jose Mourinho is believed to want to add a right-back to his squad, with first choice Antonio Valencia turning 32 before the 2017/18 campaign kicks off.

This desire for a right-back, or more specifically a right wing-back, is reportedly leading Mourinho towards Benfica's Nelson Semedo, who United were originally linked with back in January.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo are already claiming that a bid of €35 million has been made, which the Portuguese champions are expected to turn down.

Of course, given United's limitless wealth, an improved offer will likely come along soon enough if the Eagles do indeed deem €35 million to be insufficient for the 23-year-old Semedo.

Semedo is also being targeted by Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, with the Lisbon giants apparently demanding at least €40 million for the Portugal international.

The 23-year-old is currently on international duty with Portugal at the Confederations Cup, where he was an unused substitute during his country's opening match with Mexico.

Mundo Deportivo also report that Semedo has a €60 million release clause in his current contract, who's potential arrival at Old Trafford would likely accelerate Matteo Darmian's departure, with the Italian full-back being linked with both Internazionale and Roma.

Semedo has been a regular fixture in the Benfica first team since being promoted from the club's B team in 2015.

The Portugal international has played 63 games for the Eagles, scoring three goals and lifting two Pimeira Liga titles in the process.
