The future of Manchester United's Angel Gomes has been put under the spotlight over the past week, with the England U16 international the subject of reported interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The news of the interest from La Liga has understandably concerned United fans, who will be keen to avoid a repeat of the situation that took Paul Pogba to Juventus four years ago.

So it will come as a relief to the Old Trafford faithful that Gomes' father, Gil, who once upon a time shared a dressing room with Luis Figo for the Portugal U20's, has downplayed the chance of Gomes leaving United, claiming his son's dream is to turn out for the first team at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Portuguese daily A Bola, Gomes senior said, "The important thing is that Angel continues to have all this pleasure in playing football. I don't deny that many clubs ask me about him, but that's what he always says...the next dream is to play for Manchester United's first team, a club where he has been growing."
From watching Gomes for just a few minutes, it's easy to see why United fans are so eager to see the 16-year-old remain at the club for the foreseeable future:
