Jurgen Klopp has so far turned recruiting new players for Liverpool into an artform, with Sadio Mane, Joel Matip and Giorginio Wijnaldum all shining for the Reds since arriving at Anfield in the Summer.

And the German manager is eyeing another big money move to bolster his squad further, in January.

Liverpool will go head-to-head with Napoli for the signature of Porto captain Hector Herrera, who the Merseyside club have been tracking for the past year.

The 26-year-old Mexico international is thought to be available, with Porto desperately needing to service some heavy debts by offloading several of their key players. Herrera's release clause of £35m is believed to be the Poruguese club's asking price, though, so Liverpool will have to dig deep and hope Herrera prefers Merseyside to the Amalfi Coast when pushed for a decision in the new year.
