While Leicester's fairytale journey towards the most unlikely Premier League title victory of all time will go down in the history books as one of the greatest ever sporting achievements, the Foxes unlikely success story has also alerted several of Europe's biggest clubs to the champions elect's most prized assets.
Riyad Mahrez has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona (as has goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel) for most of the campaign, while the likes of Chelsea and Inter Milan have been monitoring Jamie Vardy. However, it is midfield engine room N'Golo Kante who has generated the most interest, with Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus and PSG all vying for the Frenchman's signature, with a rumoured release clause of £25m unlikely to put any of them off pursuing the ex-Caens man.
It is with this likely outgoing in mind that the Foxes have started scouring the globe for a suitable replacement, and they may have found one in Sporting CP's William Carvalho.
The young midfielder was once a target of some of the aforementioned European giants, but interest seems to have cooled somewhat over the past year, perhaps due to the superb form and relatively cheap (by the standards of today's transfer market) availability of Kante himself.
Sporting are likely to demand somewhere in the region of £20m-£25m for Carvalho's signature, but with Champions League football and extra TV revenue coming in as of next season, smashing the club's transfer record by potentially over £10m won't phase Leicester's owners.
